FERNDALE, Calif. — October 31, 2026. Winter activities are returning to the Humboldt County Fairgrounds in Ferndale, with a seasonal ice-skating attraction and a new sledding feature listed on the community visitor calendar.
Visit Ferndale’s official community events calendar lists Ice Skating at the Humboldt County Fairgrounds from November 13, 2026, through January 10, 2027. The same calendar lists Polar Bunny Hill Sledding over those dates and describes the sledding activity as new this year.
What is confirmed—and what isn’t
The dates and fairgrounds venue are published, but the visitor calendar states that Polar Bunny Hill’s operating hours are still to be determined. A calendar event’s overall date span also does not mean either attraction is open continuously or every day. Individual admission prices, equipment-rental rules, capacity limits and holiday closures should be confirmed with organizers before traveling.
Planning a winter visit
The fairgrounds are in Ferndale, in the Eel River Valley of Humboldt County. Residents of Fortuna, Eureka and surrounding communities may also find the attractions within a manageable day trip, depending on weather and road conditions.
Families should check the latest schedules, age and safety requirements, parking guidance and any advance-ticket arrangements. Children may need an adult present, and seasonal outdoor or temporary activities are subject to operational changes.
Ice skating and sledding are separate activities. Visitors should avoid assuming admission to one includes access to the other.
